Hypnotherapy is the clinical application of hypnosis and is used to help people make deep and lasting changes. Clients working with me usually experience a sense of deep relaxation, whilst their attention is narrowed down, and focused on appropriate suggestions I make which help them make the positive changes that they want.  In a hypnotherapy session you are always in control and you are not made to do anything.  I believe that Hypnotherapy is about empowerment.

Hypnosis is not a state of deep sleep, but it does involve the induction of a trance-like condition, and the client can experience an enhanced state of awareness, whilst focusing on my voice; in this state, the conscious mind is suppressed and the subconscious mind is open to suggestion, and since the subconscious mind is a deeper-seated, more instinctive force than the conscious mind, this is the part which has to change for my client’s  behaviour and physical state to alter.

Hypnotherapy aims to re-programme patterns of behaviour within the mind, enabling irrational fears, phobias, negative thoughts and suppressed emotions to be overcome.
